. Often referred to as the "painterly print", the monotype process is the most basic of all printmaking techniques. It is an immediate and rewarding introduction to printmaking which can enhance exploration of shape and texture, series development, and act as a creative catalyst for other work. Can’t draw? Never painted? No problem! You can create interesting compositions anyhow. In fact this is a great way to learn about the various aspects of composition and design and have fun doing it.

Encaustic Explorations
Although I was introduced to encaustics over 10 years ago it was not until I began playing with the medium last several years that I realized how it merges and expands the possibilities for my own work. The encaustic wax process uses beeswax in a hot liquid state mixed with pigment and resin. It is an ancient process, portraits have been found in Egypt dating 100 to 300AD, but has engaged artists over the years including Klee, Kandinsky and Jasper Johns. Through experimentation I have become quite enamored of the flexibility, translucency and ability to create, literally, new dimensions for my artistic vision with this lovely medium
